rue Cardinale, the "Granet" contains important collections
from the 17th and 18th centuries, pre-Roman statuary from Entremont,
the oppidum 2 kms to the north of Aix-en-Provence ; also, famous canvases
by Guy Constantin,
Granet, Ingres, as well as a clutch of lesser
known Cézannes.

of Aix’s more delightful and worst-kept secrets, a love-nest
built by Louis de Mercœur, Governor of Provence,
for his "friend", la Belle
du Canet. Set
in a "jardin à la française" it is
furnished with period pieces, tastefully restored. Frequent
exhibitions are largely devoted to the history of Aix-en-Provence.
